Randy’s Story

Site created on February 12, 2023

Dad has been in the hospital since Feb 7th. He was having a lot of pain in his side. So they took a lot of blood and did some scans, and found lesions on his liver and spleen. On Weds they did a biopsy and on Friday they told us it was not liver cancer but it is Stage 4 cancer. They are fairly sure the cancer is coming from his GI tract somewhere. So the Dr said they are going to get a treatment plan ready that will cover the GI. The dr's didn't want to wait too long to start the treatments because if they did and his numbers would keep going up then they would not have been able to start the treatments. There are things that are not in our favor. The treatment can be too much and his liver and kidneys can fail and we could lose him. If the treatment helps and his organs hold up we could have up to a few months to maybe a year with him yet, but right now it's critical.
