Good morning all, thank you for your prayers and words of encouragement for my mom since my last post. As I’m sure you can gather, it’s not positive that I’m posting again so soon after my last update. My mom is declining by the day, so please continue to lift her up in prayer as you think of her.
The hospice nurse is coming today to prep my mom to be bed-bound. This is a big step, and we are heartbroken to have arrived here. Our earnest prayer is that she will continue to be able to speak and feed herself, because as she gets weaker those two faculties are getting increasingly harder for her.
Many have asked what you can do tangibly for our family. Your generosity means the world to us. I wish there was something I could suggest but I know that if my mom could, she would respond to each of you and say that our number one need is prayer. She continues to meditate on Scripture as she is able, and she feels most encouraged by the knowledge that there is an army of friends and family praying on her behalf. Since becoming a Christian my mom has relied on Christ for her daily strength, but now more than ever when she can’t even talk to friends or enjoy the usual joys of life, she is solely reliant on Him for all her peace and comfort.
I’ll update you as I know more. Sending big hugs to all of you whose hearts are breaking with us.
