Raegan James’s Story

Site created on September 16, 2022

Raegan James Frye was born into this world on September 14th 2022 at 7:58 PM PST.  She was born at 23 weeks weighing in at 545 grams with a strong heart beat and a fighting spirit. She is currently being cared for by the incredible staff of the Neonatal ICU at the San Diego Navy Medical Center.  Dani and Dallas praise God for the safe delivery of their beautiful child and continue to have faith in God's plan for them. Dani and Dallas are blessed to be staying at the Fisher House San Diego (https://www.sandiegofisherhouse.org/about) right next door to the hospital and are able to visit Baby Rae Rae within minutes.

Most importantly, Dani and Dallas would like to ask for your prayers for Raegan's journey in the Neonatal unit and for all the medical staff taking constant care of her on a daily basis.

Journal entry by Dallas Frye

We found out shortly after being admitted to the hospital that Raegan has Covid. That’s the bad news; the good news is that Covid doesn’t last forever. They tell us that days four and five are the worst, and we’re starting day three today.

In typical Raegan fashion she has been crushing it, praise the Lord. She’s been a bit uncomfortable but has handled Covid better than the first time her Dad got it.

There was some stress with getting re-admitted to the hospital so soon, but Dani and I know the Lord has a reason for bringing our 10-pound miracle back to the hospital, where our nurses and doctors have been stellar.

In many ways, this visit has been a blessing and another reminder of God's grace to Raegan and our whole family.

We’re not quite sure how she got Covid, but Dad is going to put up some safeguards for the next few months to ensure we protect her from another hospitalization and mitigate her having to do this merry-go-round again.

We appreciate all the love and support, and we know that many of you look forward to meeting Raegan.

We look forward to Raegan getting to meet all of you too. The pulmonologists tell us that as soon as this Summer, she could be off Oxygen. Once she gets off O2, Raegan will be available for many more play dates. Until then, we appreciate your continued prayer and support!
