Eli’s Story

Site created on February 18, 2024

Our friend Eli Rad was involved in a horrific accident Saturday February 17th, suffering burns to 76% of his body.  He was Life Flighted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.  He will be undergoing extensive medical care in the burn unit.  His loving wife Jenny, 4 year old daughter Everly and 1 1/2 year old son Samuel will be needing a lot of support in the months to come for their family.  They need lodging and meals in Seattle for the indefinite future.

Eli is a widely known, hard working entrepreneur and good friend to many in our community.  Eli and Jenny have been the first to step up and help family and friends.  It is our turn to help them in their time of need.

Anything you can give will help. There is a “Go Fund Me” account linked to this site, as well as an “Eli Rad Family Medical Support Fund” account being set up at Cottonwood Community Federal Credit Union (PO Box 507, Cottonwood, Idaho 83522) for direct donations.

Please hold Eli  and his young family in your prayers.  God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in [times of] trouble. ~Psalm 46:1

Newest Update

Journal entry by Sara Tacke

The saying goes “what you put into the world will come back to you tenfold,” and the generosity shown thus far by family, friends, acquaintances and even strangers is a testament to the love and kindness Eli and Jenny have shown so many.

And now the time is critical for us to all be lifting Eli and his family in our prayers, and keeping them in the forefront of our minds. I have posted an update from Jenny under the “Go Fund Me” and “Caring Bridge” accounts.

Jenny wanted me to update everyone after Eli’s surgery…

“Ok, doctors just talked to me. It was a very difficult conversation. Surgery went great. They got the most badly burned areas all in one go. But the doctor referred to this as the ‘honeymoon phase’ right now. He is going to get a lot worse before he gets better.

The next 72 hours will be rough. The doctor says he doesn’t have a lot of donor sites so it will be hard to find enough skin to graft. This doctor now said we will be here 4-5 months…

It sounds like it will get worse before it gets better….

He also said that usually younger males have the most painful recovery.”

Due to the change of estimated time away from home, I have increased the donation goal so we can help the Rads as much as we possibly can.

Keep storming Heaven, and if you can find it in your hearts to donate monetarily to this family, I know they would be forever grateful. ❤️
