The doctors just came into the waiting room with amazing news! Rachel went through another surgery this morning and was able to have the ECMO heart machine removed completely. Her heart is now beating on its own and her chest has been closed and we are so very thankful. She was also taken off of all of the drips and meds that she was on. She did have general anesthesia for the surgery to keep her comfortable. Rachel is fighting and fighting hard to keep moving forward into this amazing direction. There are still obstacles to overcome but she has come so far and overcome some of the biggest obstacles already. The doctors said that she is young and very healthy and so that is on her side. They will continue to monitor her vitals, her brain and her heart and we pray now that things keep looking up. Thank you to God, the doctors and everyone in the hospital working with Rachel, and also to all of her family and friends for all of the love, prayer and support. Prayer works, so please keep them coming. 🙏 🙏🙏
