A treatment free era....I can't believe that I am writing these words. I am so full of gratitude and praise to be able to say those words. I had my three month scan this week and left with the great news of another clean scan! Praise the Lord!

Since I last updated everyone back in November, I continued my immunotherapy infusion every month. In late December, Dr. King recommended ending these treatments in the new year. We discussed the fact that I had now done immunotherapy infusions for two years. Typically people do them for one year, but because of my liver spot they wanted to do it for longer. Now two years out without evidence of disease, it wasn't clear if it was beneficial or not. I am a rare situation which is a good thing! I don't want to keep taking medication if it isn't needed and overusing medication isn't something he wanted to do either. Immunotherapy meds can be hard on your heart and with discovering prior to chemo that I had cardiomyopathy, we have to weigh the benefits and risks.

I knew I wanted to be done doing this all the time, but it was also a scary feeling. Wondering what would happen without these medications.  Are these what is keeping me healthy? There was a lot running through me mind. That being said, the prospect of not spending one day every month getting these infusions was exciting. In December, Dr. King ordered a circulating tumor DNA blood test.  While it is a fairly new option, he was confident that it would be a great way to see if there was anything abnormal in my blood that would indicate cancerous cells. When I went in for my January infusion, we went over the results which showed no abnormal DNA or cells of any kind. Again, fantastic news, but as always, we are cautiously optimistic. As Dr. King explained, it is harder to prove a negative, but it was a great sign that nothing showed up :)

I am happy to say that January 19th was my last infusion!! I met with Dr. King today to go over my latest scan and it was so full of joy to talk about moving ahead without treatments. I will have a normal scan three months from now, but after that we will probably extend it to every six months. It's a whole new era that I haven't had in almost three years and there are so many emotions that go along with that.  I trust in my doctors, but mostly I trust in God. I seriously can't believe that I am here. I know I have shared this journey in full, but I don't think people understand how much your prayers and my faith have impacted this journey. I know for a fact that this miracle is because of Jesus. People will try to say this cured me or that cured me, but there is no doubt in my mind that it was a miracle of God. I was told by more than one doctor after my diagnosis that this was not curable.  I knew God was driving this journey and I had to trust him.  After my chemo and radiation, I was told by many doctors that they could count on one hand all the people who had a story like mine and got the result I had gotten. This is not a coincidence and not only a cure by medicine.

I was reading my bible today before my appt and I read Mark Chapters 4 and 5. If you haven't read the first four chapters of the New Testament, I would highly recommend them.  As I was reading through some of the miracles of Jesus, I read about the suffering woman who reached out to touch Jesus. She touched his clothes and was instantly healed. While that was amazing, what I loved about this story was that Jesus stopped to speak to her. He didn't have to, but chose to speak to this woman who most people had ignored. There was a huge crowd and he spent his time looking for her and then told her, "Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be free from your suffering".  I just love the heart and soul of Jesus. He loves and cares about each one of us and takes the time to acknowledge each and every one of us. Some people think these miracles only happened in the bible, but I get to testify that these miracles still happen each and every day💜

While I don't know what the future holds in any aspect, I am so grateful for each and every day that I get to experience this miracle. Each and every one of you who prayed made a difference. You are a big part of the reason we get to celebrate this miracle. From the bottom of my heart, thank you 💜
