Rachael’s Story

Site created on December 5, 2023

Welcome to Rachael's Caring Bridge site. This was created to keep family and friends updated in one place. We know that Rachael, Josh and the boys will have your support, prayers and love. Rachael was diagnosed with Stage 3C Ovarian Cancer on Thursday, Nov. 30, 2023. They have an incredible support system and so many people who love them. We're hoping to share updates and information through this site so that she is able to focus on healing. Send texts, let Rachael know she is loved and prayed for, love on Josh and the boys, God put each one of us here for a purpose and we are walking in faith, knowing that He is in control. Psalm 103:1-8

Ya’ll are amazing!!! 📣📢📣

❗❗❗❗❗If you didn’t read the previous message, please go back and catch up. She has some new treatments she’ll start soon so continue praying❗❗❗❗❗

Rachael heads in tomorrow for Round 6 of chemo treatments. Remember that this turns into a pretty long day of sitting, switching out the cool cap on her head (but she still has hair so it’s working! 👩 ) and cold mitts on her hands and feet to ward off neuropathy (which has been working as well! 🙌 ) So when she crosses your mind, please stop and pray for her❤️

Each treatment has had longer side effects and this past one has been more noticeable. Normally, she gets a reprieve from side effects but this last round hasn’t really given her a break. She has really noticed exhaustion, bone and muscle pain and quite a bit of nausea. She’s also been dealing with her blood pressure being higher than normal. This is a major prayer request because one of the medications she is on (the immunotherapy that they want to continue with every three weeks for at least another year) lists this as a side effect. We know that God is a miracle worker and He hears us when we call on His Name. Her blood pressure needs to stay in the normal range so that she can continue with the medication plan that her doctor has laid out for her.

Ya’ll, she is amazing! She’s strong and courageous, but this is an exhausting road. Rachael will not ask for help and yes, she has family and friends checking on her, but continue to reach out, text, call, sign up for the  : MealTrain or Supporting the Wintermutes and just love on her!

Please make sure you’ve read the previous post. Tomorrow is the last out patient chemo treatment, but after that, she’ll continue to have chemo and immunotherapy, just in a different manner. She’s still got quite a long road ahead and knowing that she’s being prayed over and loved on makes a world of difference!❣️

Today's Prayer Points 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

1 - Pray for Rachael’s blood pressure to stabilize and stay in the safe zone so that she can continue to take the meds needed  🥰

2 - Pray for a huge resilience of her spirits so she doesn’t feel overwhelmed or worried. 💖

3 - Praise God that she has completed this first round of treatments!  👏🏻

4 - Continue to lift up Rachael and her family. She will continue to have the effects of this round to overcome and then she’ll begin her new meds (chemo pill twice daily and immunotherapy through her port every 3 weeks.) 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
