Journal
Well, it's been a month since R. J. was discharged from the hospital. He's been walking a little over a mile a night with me and Robin. He's started driving again. He's back to cooking in the kitchen (still enjoying some of our home-made meals -- Bob's soy vinegar chicken thighs, Donna's lasagna etc). Those have been super convenient while he's been recovering! Not too much standing and prepping!
We have a follow-up appointment with the pulmonologist to get an X-ray of his lungs before the end of the year. We need to make an appointment with a hematologist to make sure that he is not predisposed to pulmonary embolisms -- if not then we can probably start weaning him off the blood thinners.
Not sure when he will go and jump in the pool and try to swim -- he says that is still several weeks out. Also, climbing is probably a little ways out too. He'll know when he's ready. In the words of the pulmonologist, "he dodged a bullet".
Robin Update: She is thriving! Changing almost daily. She was 13lbs 11oz and 24" at her 2 month check-up (11 weeks old). She's focusing very well. When I read to her, she looks at the pages. She sits happily in her little bouncing chair when we are eating and plays kick the blankie off. Also, she's started to sleep for longer stretches at night (4-6 hours)! She loves bath time! She's a lot of fun!
Thank you all so much for all your support! So glad that my little family made it past that -- I know it couldn't have happened without all of your prayers and support! You all gave me the strength to keep pressing on!
VERY THANKFUL FOR YOU ALL!
