Time flies when you are home getting healthy!  Thank you to everyone of you for everything you have done for us!  So many of you have reached out to welcome Quinn home, to check in on Duncan, Alex and I and offer your support. We would never have made it through this past month without this tremendous community outpouring.  Many of you have also been following us from afar and so I wanted to keep you posted on how our boy is doing!  I think we are seeing the light at the end of the quarantine, so I'm hopeful that we'll get to be out and about to see you all in person soon.

Quinn is feeling really good!  Today marks 2 weeks out of the hospital.  The first week he was home , Quinn was definitely tired, sore and a little more subdued than usual.  He spent a lot of time on the couch or napping.  He did manage to jump back into his PS4 video gaming groups pretty seamlessly and he was able to connect with a few friends in the backyard.  We celebrated a late Mother's Day with the Rock family where he saw some of his grandparents and cousins for the first time.

After week 2 at home we began to see Quinn's spirits bounce back! Hanging out with his peers has been the best medicine.  The Leamon boys came over to visit for an afternoon and Quinn managed to play a little one handed HORSE, take a few swipes with a whiffle ball bat and play a little corn hole! Dom and Cherie came to chat and the night time video gaming continues!  He's taken some walks by the river with us and is back to sharing funny videos with me.  He was also able to reconnect with his MMU teachers and dip his toes back into the remote learning pool to see how things are feeling academically.  He's reporting that he feels "pretty normal" when it comes to his academic skills- and he's done some work in Algebra II, Science and English so far.  He went to his advisory and was thrilled to hang out with his "Buck Yeah" friends.  We had a busy Memorial Day weekend catching up with the Wardwell side of the family, visiting some dear friends for dinner at their farm in the shadow of Camel's Hump and playing some lawn games at Grammie and PopPop's house.  Life is good and life feels much more normal for all of us now.

We'll have our first visits to the cardiology teams on Friday so they can check up on Quinn's progress. He's hoping they clear him for swimming soon (it's in the 90's here today...two weeks ago we had 2 inches of snow on the ground!)  This summer will continue to be rest, rehab and observation so they can determine what the long term impacts of Quinn's heart condition will be.

We love you all and hope you'll reach out anytime!  Enjoy these photos of our "return to normalcy" :)
