Today I had my LTFU appointments for 2-ish years post transplant. I started dark and early at SCCA with a fasting blood draw to the tune of 8 tubes. I followed that up with a trip to the dental folks on the 6th floor, where I found out that my tongue sensitivity is mainly due to the top rough layer of my tongue being gone. I then had to do a pulmonary function test, which may be my least favorite procedure there behind a bone marrow biopsy. After that I was seen by the doctor who was running a study that I was part of before FINALLY being seen by the long term follow up nurse and physician assistant. To make a long story short, I’m doing mostly fine and the doctors are planning to start tapering the last of my immune suppressing medications. All told, I spent the same amount of time there that I would have spent at work, almost to the minute. Good times [/s]
