The goal of Parker's kidney transplant was to give her a better quality of life; one where she could be a carefree, lively 6 year-old.  Unfortunately, we're not there yet.

Parker is back in the hospital, again.  This is the third time in 6 weeks; 5th time this year.  All she wants is to be at school.  All she wants is to go on field trips and play with her friends.  All she wants is to be invited to birthday parties and run around with other 6-year olds.  She wants to sleep through the night in her own bed without the fear of being rushed off to the emergency room where she's continually poked and prodded.  All she wants is to feel better.  Please, someone, tell me that this gets easier.

The culprit this time; Sapovirus.  (Think Nirovirses's nicer sister.)  This is her third virus that has put us in the hospital.  She's so immune compromised that even the mildest virus causes havoc to her little body.  As we get further post-transplant, we will cut back a bit on her immunosuppressants, but until then.....this is the life.

Currently, we are getting her plenty of fluids and balancing her electrolytes.  Nephrology is consulting with GI to determine where we want to go from here.  I anticipate at least another night depending on how long this virus decides to stay put.

If you have any words of support and encouragement to share with Ms. P, I'll read them to her after she wakes up from her nap.

All of our love,
Seth, Elizabeth, Addison N' Parker
