Journal

Good morning! Addi was able to come home on Monday of this week. She spent a lot of the day on Tuesday at clinic getting a lumbar puncture and IV chemo. She is glad to be home, but it is pretty wiped out most of the time. Her doctor said that while she's on steroids, her sleep will not be very restful which results in lack of energy during the day.
Today (Friday) we are back at clinic. The morning started a bit rough and Addi passed out in the driveway as we were walking to the car. We talked with the doctor about giving her some meds to calm her anxiety and nausea proactively; that is the plan for the next chemo day (Tuesday). Today is the first time her port had to be re-accessed and Addi handled it like a champ!

The genetic testing came back, and the findings were something the doctor does not see on a regular basis. They found something called CRLF2 Rearrangement. Typically this is found in kids who have more serious markers, but Addi has not had any of these other more serious markers. Her doctor is currently doing some research to figure out the best plan. Her research along with the bone marrow biopsy at will determine how intensive the next steps of her treatment need to be.
Please be in prayer about this.
Her blood sugar was also quite high today at clinic. This is most likely due to the steroids, but we are going to do finger pricks four times a day at home to monitor it.
Her blood counts we're beautiful today, so that was very encouraging!

Josh (Addi's) dad has started a blog and is graciously inviting anyone who is interested to follow along this journey with them. He will post updates on the blog from now on.
