“Do not become upset when difficulty comes your way. Laugh in its face and know that you are in the hands of God.” ― St. Francis de Sales

1 year Coronaversary 3/28/2021: A year ago today I drove Michael to Cooper Hospital I had to say goodbye at the doors of the ER not knowing what the next day would bring. I sobbed in my car not sure how I was going to drive home but God sent an angel with the right words to get me through. The next 74 days would bring heartache and pain like my family had never known before, but it would also bring Faith, Hope, Love and unmeasurable kindness. God’s angles on Earth were working overtime. I always believed in the power of prayer but if you doubt that power read my caring bridge; you will see God’s love and Mercy manifested in those pages. It was with the help and support of our Amazing Army of Prayer Warriors that my family was able to get through the darkness and WE BELIEVE it was those same prayers that brought Michael back to us. God placed every person we needed in our path from family, friends, clergy, coworkers, our children’s schools, High School and Universities, our scout troop, VFW, American Legion, doctors, nurses, PT, OT, therapist, and support staff everyone played a part in holding us up and giving us strength when we felt we had none. You took care of our bodies, minds and souls, to say thank you does not seem adequate, we can never repay all the kindness all we can say is we will never forget.

 A year later we are still coping with some long term effects of this virus. Yet, at the same time we are keenly aware of how blessed we are and we mourn with those families that lost loved ones to this horrible virus. We mourn for all the loss we have shared during this past year, moments missed, milestones gone barely recognized or celebrated. We know everyone is getting tired of sacrificing so much but please continue to be careful we are not out of the woods yet. If you can, get vaccinated as soon as possible, if not, wear a mask, wash your hands and practice social distancing. It saddens us so much every time we hear of someone who is sick and worse yet has died when we are so close to getting back to some kind of normal.  But it will still take all of us working together continuing to do the right thing to get us all there safely.

So, to our Amazing Army of Prayer Warriors thank you all so much we will never forget your love, support, prayers and faithfulness we will carry them in our hearts always.

“During the night we must wait for the light.” ― St. Francis de Sales

Time to Pray

I got up early one morning
and rushed right into the day;
I had so much to accomplish
that I didn't have time to pray.

Problems just tumbled about me,
and heavier came each task.
"Why doesn't God help me?" I wondered.
He answered, "You didn't ask."

I wanted to see joy and beauty,
but the day toiled on, gray and bleak;
I wondered why God didn't show me.
He said, "But you didn't seek."

I tried to come into God's presence;
I used all my keys at the lock.
God gently and lovingly chided,
"My child, you didn't knock."

 I woke up early this morning,
and paused before entering the day;
I had so much to accomplish
that I had to take time to pray.
