Laura posted in the night on Facebook

Just in case news travels fast (and I know many care so much) I wanted to let you know that we are now home and Jesse is ok. He went into Vfib again tonight (or I guess is now last night~) and his defibrillator shocked him.

It all happened very fast! We were all watching a movie as a family. Towards the end of the movie he started to slump over and said he felt lightheaded. He was shocked just as I was about to grab onto him.

We called 911 and they arrived quickly! He somehow jumped up right after being shocked. He wasn’t exactly sure what had happened, but definitely didn’t feel the need for paramedics. 😳 They are amazing! He just didn’t want to draw any attention.
They ran some tests and advised us to go to the ER. All looked stable at that point.

More tests were run in the ER, they took some blood, and a chest X-ray. They sent someone in to check the readings from his defibrillator and they confirmed that his heart rate went to 283 and then shocked him appropriately. It shocked him one time, for 3 seconds. They said the defibrillator saved him.

We still don’t really know why this is happening. The cardiologist now wants to see him in the next 1-2 days. So hopefully we will know more soon!
