Will’s Story

Site created on May 3, 2020

On Thursday, April 30, 2020, Will was involved in a single car accident on Woodlawn Road in Edgefield County. While we are not certain what caused the crash we are certain God placed a hedge of protection around him and sent lots of angels who worked collectively to save his life. We are forever grateful to the total strangers who stopped and did whatever it took to keep him alive and those who used the power of social media to notify his family. There is no doubt in our minds that it could have been days before we knew what happened without them. Will sustained third degree burns over 60% of his body and is currently receiving excellent care at the Joseph M. Still Burn Center. Doctors anticipate it will take several months for him to heal. In an effort to keep our family and friends posted on his progress we will provide updates as often as we can on his CaringBridge page. We know how loved he is by the sheer number of calls, text messages and questions we have received. It truly means the world to us and while we will continue to do our best to answer each of you personally we thank you in advance for your grace and mercy if we are unable to do so. Our hope is this page will help keep us connected and let everyone know if there are any needs other than prayer. At this time we ask that you continue to cover Will in prayer and take a moment to click on the well wishes heart and share a word of encouragement for him to read in the days ahead. Your kind words will surely be the best medicine he could ever receive as he recovers!
