Happy Mother’s Day to all of the many Moms that have been in PJ’s life, including all of his Masonic youth “moms”.  Without the moms, aunts and grandmothers in our lives, I’m not sure that we could have survived the last fifteen years.  I would especially like to thank all of the mom nurses, during nurses week, that have cared for PJ, and who sacrifice family time to care for others.

The last few weeks have been another difficult time for us.  Following targeted radiation treatment for the liver sarcoma, at the end of last year, PJ’s MRI and PET scan were clear in February.  But, a repeat MRI done two weeks ago showed new lesions in PJ’s liver, with a possible lesion in the small bowel.  The PET scan done this past week confirmed low density masses.

Therefore, PJ will have a CT scan tomorrow morning, and will then meet with one of his oncologists in the afternoon, to go over all of the results.  On Thursday, PJ will have a new patient appointment with a sarcoma specialist at MD Anderson, who will hopefully be able to work with PJ’s current team here in Houston, along with the team in Indiana, to set up a new treatment plan.

Please continue to keep PJ in your thoughts and prayers this week, and as we move forward with treatment.  And, thank you again for being part of our lives.
