Newest Update

Journal entry by Lisa Gonzales

This is Tange with an update on Phil.

I wanted to give you an update on Phil.  We traveled back to Sioux Falls this past Wednesday afternoon. He had three follow up appointments on Thursday, January 12th.

First appointment was for his arm and we got good news! His arm is healing and no other surgeries are needed. Yay! Doctor told him he could get rid of the thumb brace right away and to start working on some stretching exercises for his thumb and hand. He can take his arm brace off and only uses it when sleeping and when we travel just for a bit of added protection. After a couple of more weeks he won't need the brace at all.

Second appointment was for his leg. X-ray looked good. Doctor does want him to wait for another three weeks before he puts weight on his leg. Doctor does not want to take any chances and Phil understands that. We go back to see this doctor on Feb 2nd.

Third appointment was with his primary doctor. That went well too.

We didn't have the best of roads at times but we made it safely.

Please keep sending prayers for Phil.  As his physical injuries heal, he will then be able to focus on the grieving process.

Don't be afraid to reach out to Phil with a phone call, text, visit, or note in the mail.

Thank you for your continued prayers, love and support.

P.S. He has five buddies here today watching football with him. He appreciates the distractions.
