Journal entry by Anita Grendahl

More positive news for PJ! He was released from transitional care on Saturday morning. He has been enjoying sleeping at home on his new tempurpedic mattress with an adjustable frame in the living room. He’s living like a king now. Teddy has been cuddling with him every day and won’t leave his side. He refuses to go to his bed at night and has been more possessive than usual (hard to believe that’s possible if you’ve met teddy).

He also got his feeding tube removed on Monday. He’s had quite the appetite since he got home and has said the food is much better than the facility. He also has an assortment of medication to take. It’s a bit overwhelming considering he’s never been on prescription medication before. He’s currently researching how he can ween himself off some of the medications. No surprises there!

His physical therapist, occupational therapist, speech therapist, and nurse will be visiting the house to make recovery easier for everyone. He’s been walking around the house with his walker or cane.

He also read every caring bridge post along with all of the comments. Please feel free to send him your comments through here. He’d love to hear from everyone and appreciates the thoughts and prayers. ♥️
