Journal entry by Brielle Wilson

Praise the Lord for clear scans!!!  Peyton had a CT done yesterday and there were no tumors!!!  That means we are officially done with chemo and her port can come out!!!!!

Yesterday was not an easy day, but it had the best ending.  She couldn't eat or drink before her CT scan, so a grumpy and hungry toddler is never very fun.  We started off getting accessed and she spit up a good bit when they flushed her port.  This always makes her gag, but normally I can give her water or juice to get the taste out.  Since I couldn't do that, it was harder on her.  We then went to CT and she had to drink contrast mixed in with apple juice.  Halfway through she threw it up.  She was so scared since she didn't know what was happening and couldn't control it.  Then she had to continue to drink it because she needed the contrast in her.  She did amazing and thank the Lord got through the scan without sedation.  She was honestly incredible!  I think I cried more than her.  Having those memories come back to the first time we found out right after her first CT hit me harder than I was expecting.  After we got through that, we finally got to eat and drink.   It did not go well.  Every time I tried to give her food or water, she threw up.  We were both exhausted, but when we got back to the clinic and found she wasn't any better they ordered zofran and she felt much better after that!  The doctors came in and gave us the great news!  Scans were clear and lab work looked great!!!!!

This means we will schedule the port removal surgery soon and then she has scans every three months for a year or two!  We will also be following up with a renal doctor.  The wonderful staff at clinic 8 sang her the sweetest song and she got to ring the bell as the completion of this side of the journey is over!  We are rejoicing and praising the Lord for getting us through this.  There will still be trials I am sure, but we know the Lord is with us every step and we will rest in peace with that knowledge.

Prayer requests:

Successful and easy port removal surgery.  She will be under anesthesia, but it is an outpatient surgery so we will not have to spend the night at the hospital.

There is a 15% chance this kind of tumor comes back.  We are praying this is not the case for Peyton.

As she continues the rest of her life, prayers that her one left kidney will stay healthy and strong with no complications.

We thank you all again for the prayers, support, encouragement, and everything else people have helped us with during all of this!  We are forever grateful.
