Pete’s Story

In April 2021, Pete received a diagnosis of Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS), which is a blood disorder/cancer often characterized as "bone marrow failure" and which often leads to Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). The GREAT news?  MDS/AML is curable, which was obviously music to our ears!  The bad news, however, is that a bone marrow transplant is the only known path to a cure, and so — needless to say — that's the journey we're gearing up for now.

Fortunately or unfortunately, this is not our first "cancer rodeo" as a family and so we know from first-hand experience just how vital the love and support of family and friends is in order to make it through the difficult days, weeks, and months ahead. We've created this site as a way to keep all of our family and friends informed of Pete's journey back to health and so that you have a place through which to demonstrate your love, support and encouragement to him and to our entire family along the way.
