Hi Everyone,
This will be the last posting we will do on Caring Bridge. Peter continues to heal and is getting a little stronger every day. Things are not moving along as fast as he’d like but I think he is doing quite remarkable. We have been trying to get out for a walk most days and yesterday made it for over an hour. Now that his mouth is unwired he is an eating machine. He is still not able to open it up very far but enough to get a spoon in so it’s much easier now for him to get all the calories he needs to heal, increase strength and gain weight. He still can’t really chew so he is still having a lot of smoothies and soft foods but at least now they can have a bit more texture and everything doesn’t have to go in with a syringe. On Wed. we saw the ENT who took the wick out of his right ear and hearing is pretty good so that is very good news! (Hearing in left ear is fine.) Surgery for removal of remaining hardware in his mouth plus some work on his right eye will happen in a couple of weeks and after that we can head home!! Next surgeries won’t be for another 4-6 months.

Sorry I have not gotten around to responding to any. We very much appreciate all the help you have given us on this journey.
