Peggy’s Story

Site created on September 5, 2023

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

Peggy is in her final chapter of her long battle with both Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS) and a type of vasculitis called Granulomatosis with polyangiitis.  While both are serious  diseases, it is the MDS that has been the source of her decline over the past year. MDS is a type of cancer in which immature blood cells in the bone marrow do not mature or become healthy blood cells.  Peggy has been dependent on blood transfusions for more than a year, but their effectiveness has been waning over the past few months.

Peggy's incredible heart - the one that has led her on adventures across the world with Will, her husband of 50 years - is weakening. She's fought very hard for a very long time, but now it is time to prepare to say goodbye.
