From Paul On October 12th, I went to ER doubled over in pain They did CT scan and X-ray,  showed nothing.  I’ve never been in so much pain, they admitted me.

13th- surgeon comes to introduce himself and says I’ve seen reports, the good news is I see no masses etc.

Around 2-3 I get sent for another scan, now showed 1-1/2” hole in bowel, and a stomach full of poop.  An hour later, an ultrasound. Then surgery.  I woke to find myself on colostomy bag, “temporary” they say.

I remain in hospital till the 18th.  Total hell.

I was released at 3 PM

On 19th.  I came home to start recovery.  I’m bleeding thru the 8” steel staples holding me together. Mike Brown comes over and puts a pad and tape on it,  last night I bled about 4-6 ounces.  No sleep. Geoff flew up and was here around 3:00 yesterday.

Today we went back to ER to have incision checked and fixed.  Between 9 AM, and me refusing admission, at 3:30 they did another Catscan, and a heart ultrasound just for fun.

Tomorrow AM I have an appointment with a Cardiologist. Plus there is a small clot on my spleen, which is nothing to worry about, plus my pancreas is inflamed.  Tonight I’m home dealing with 1st Issue.  Recover and get off colostomy bag.

I am beat into the ground.  How did this happen?  No Idea.  Too exhausted to even talk now, PZ

Paul is at home, waiting for the arrival of his beloved  dog from her treatment in Southern California.  His doctors gave him a new machine today that he will use to vacuum his own wound. He is in good spirits.
