Paul’s Story

Site created on October 4, 2022

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting. Paul started not feeling well in August. He went to the Dr. and they thought he had a Urinary Tract Infection (UTI). He started having quite a bit of Hematuria, blood in his urine. They ran some more tests and decided he needed a Uroscan . it is a CT of the abdomen. they saw a mass in his bladder at that point. He has been in and out of the Emergency room several times over the last couple of weeks. they did a biopsy on Sept 22 and determined he has prostate cancer. He has been really sick this past week and not able to eat anything. Joanne took him back to ER yesterday. After spending 14 hours there, they found him a room and admitted him. He has a catheter in but is still throwing a lot of blood clots. they are going to do a procedure tomorrow to put in some ureter Stents to remove any blockage.
We have our first appointment with Oncology tomorrow. We will then set up his care and treatment plan. We do not know what stage he is in or the prognosis yet.
He still has not eaten, he is npo until after the procedure. They did give him 7 bags of fluid so he is no longer dehydrated. I will update as soon as we know more.
Paul strongly believes in the power of prayer, we could use all prayers and encouragement you might have to offer.
