Hello friends,

We just wanted to share some updates.

Paul continues to do very well. He has follow-ups on a regular basis with a specialist to make sure he remains cancer free. He also remains in swallowing therapy to help improve/maintain his swallowing abilities. He takes in about a fourth of his calories by mouth and the rest by feeding tube.

He has been preaching every Sunday. At his last check-up with the specialist, he was told that there is some motion that has developed in his previously paralyzed vocal cord. He will be getting shots into his palate every few months to help improve his voice quality as the muscle tone was greatly diminished by the initial surgery he had last year. 

Paul and Cyndi enjoyed a recent trip out of state to a missions conference. Paul enjoys driving and has had enough energy to travel a little bit recently. They will be traveling to a city south of Portland soon so he can perform a funeral for a beloved friend.
