What a wonderful Winter Wonderland!!

Paul has been doing relatively well during his in-person/ e-learning school year.  We have learned that he is a little behind his classmates in basic letter and number identification.  I believe Brandon and I can take full responsibility for that.  We didn't focus on learning in 2019.  We let him focus on playing and being a kid in amongst his medical concerns.  But, don't you worry we are back on track now and staying focused to get him on track.  Thankfully he has a huge desire to learn and has a teacher that is understanding and willing to work with him.  We are thankful for all blessings big and small.

On to what you all really want to know.... his 3 month check up status.  He is one lucky boy, he was able to talk his dad into tagging along this time.  We went to Madison on December 9th (oops he missed another day of school).   He wasn't able to take his computer and work on schooling this round, unlike in September.  Paul's appointments were a little different.  He started the day with an Ultrasound of his Abdomen, Pelvis, and chest.  I didn't go in, Brandon did, but Paul assured me  he was good for them.  Next we went onto have a Chest X-ray and lab work.  Boy he is getting more comfortable with all of this.  He followed direction the first round with the X-ray technician and didn't flinch for the blood draw.  This is the first time since the very beginning that he was stuck with a needle and didn't have them use any numbing or distraction technique.  Let me tell you, he is very proud of the pencil he was given.  Don't you worry he was done with testing yet, he then went with Brandon to have an Echo of his heart done.  Lucky little man got to watch a movie during this test.  But, I'm not sure how much of the movie he really watched, he was busy telling dad "don't fall asleep dad, since they shut the lights off".

Once all of his tests were complete, we got to see Dr. Olsen.  It's always great to read her face when she enters the room.  She had a hint of a smile, so I knew the report was good.  She reported "NO sign of relapse.  All labs look good.  Paul you have made it a full year without treatment".

However, the day did end with a little bit of a unique finding.  Since the beginning Paul has always told Dr. Olsen guess what your gunna hear today inside of me.  Well, this time around she heard an elephant.  So, if anyone knows how to get an elephant out of a 5 yr old's belly.  Please do tell.  I guess this is a continuation of the Mac an Cheese that we found in January 2019 in his belly.

We hope this holiday season brings you much peace and reflection on the true meaning of the season.  We plan to continue to enjoy life the best we can, while raising our three amazing boys.  I'll be honest, they are crazy, but I love them non the less.  We will be back in March for our next 3 month check up.
