Paul’s Story

Site created on October 16, 2019

Welcome to our CaringBridge website for Paul Geddes. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one  place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement.

On Sunday, October 13th, Paul was diagnosed with cancer. We were informed that masses were found in his brain, lungs, and kidney. We are still working with doctors to identify treatment options and determine our next steps moving forward. Paul was transferred to UC Davis on Thursday, October 17th. Another MRI was done at that point and we are awaiting results.  A possible surgery is pending . More information will be available after the transfer is completed and tests are run.

We will do our best to keep the site updated with any/all new information. Thank you for the love and support you have shown us through this journey.  We appreciate you encouragement and prayers more than you can know.

Journal entry by Sue Geddes

Dear friends and family,

Words cannot express the love and gratitude I feel for each and everyone of you. Your prayers,  words of encouragement,  gifts,  cards, love and just being there for us throughout this journey has been incredible.

We were constantly overwhelmed by the continual stream of friends and family who came to visit us those past few months. Each visit made Paul feel so loved and so special that you would take the time from your busy schedules to come and see him. He felt so blessed and so do I.

Our Celebration of Life this past Friday was truly amazing. Thank you to all of those in attendance....it was standing room only! A full house!! We were once again overtaken with your love and support. Thank you especially to Gary, Wade and the three Mikes. Each of your talks gave more insight to the wonderful man Paul was. A special thank you to Wade for the rack of tie-die clothing you provided. The world is a much brighter and beautifuler place because of you. I  cannot begin to thank the funeral ministry team at Green Valley Community Church  for all the services and love you showered upon us. You made a difficult task amazingly bearable. Thank you all so much.

To my children I want to give my deepest appreciation and love. I am so proud of you. Each of you spoke so beautifully on Friday. Your words made dad come alive.  Thank you for taking such good care of me for these past few months. It has been a difficult time for all of us.  I  would not have made it through if it weren't for your love and support. I am so blessed to have each of you.

As I said on Friday, hold tightly to those whom you love. Tell them that you love them. Tell them often. Do things together even if you don't feel like it. Go out and experience life together because God may have a different plan for your future than you do.  Only He knows.

I love you all.
