Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

My mom has a cancerous tumor called Neuroendocrine in her pancreas.  On Wednesday Dr. Mejia will be performing the Whipple procedure, its a complex operation to remove the head of the pancreas, the first part of the small intestine (duodenum), the gallbladder and the bile duct.  Surgery is said to take 5-6 hours, hospital stay 5-7 days and recovery 2-3 months.  Her surgery is set for 7:30AM. Thank you for all the love, hugs, support and prayers.

Newest Update

Journal entry by Christine Sorensen

Update my mom is going home tomorrow.  the test for the fluid in the body cavity is negative for infection. She will continue to get endoscopy’s done in Missoula to monitor the ulcers. Once they scar over they will be able to stretch them like the first three to give her more room in her stomach.  She was moved to a full liquid diet today going to monitor her to make sure that will agree with her.
