Journal entry by LARRY DELZELL

Paula's service was beautiful! Thank you, thank you, thank you if you were able to attend. You made it a joyous celebration. Thank you also if you watched it online; we can't wait for them to send it to us so we can view it too. We're happy to send anyone the link when we get it. If you weren't able to be there, we missed you! It was a glorious tribute to her life, and Harlow & Matthew were spectacular!

Two last things - if you were there and did not have a chance to sign in, please let me know as we would love to acknowledge your presence. Secondly, if you watched online we would love to hear from you also. In either case, you can let me know at larry.delzell@perryhomes.com or texting 214-801-9999. There is a disconnect between the number of people the church estimated were there and the number who signed the guest book, and we really want to know if you were there to thank you.

Lastly, I'll leave you with a few quotes I have been reading that touched my heart that you may reflect on:

"I preferred to suffer myself than to know her agony continued. Her well-being was more important to me than my own. I have learned during the course of a long life that that is the meaning of love."

"You never know how the loss will come - whether he will lose you or you him, but it is a certainty that there will be a shattering involuntary separation. Death is the abandonment caused not by betrayal but by fidelity."

"When you lose someone you love, you gain an angel you know."

"To live in hearts we leave behind is not to die."

"Death - the last sleep? No, it is the final awakening."

"When someone you love becomes a memory, that memory becomes a treasure."

Thank all of you for following our family's posts on CaringBridge, and we promise we will be there for you like you've been there for us in times like these. Rest in peace dear Paula, we love you! Blessings!
