Pat’s Story

Site created on April 4, 2023

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

Over the past 8 months Pat has been recovering from different respiratory viruses, bronchitis and pneumonia that have progressively damaged his lungs. He felt like he was on the road to recovery when he caught yet another virus, we believe just from a regular trip to the grocery store.

In the early morning hours of Saturday March 25th, he woke his wife Kerri and said he was having trouble catching his breath. She called an ambulance and he was taken to Mercy Hospital. He was getting progressively better and was scheduled to be released the next Tuesday, however more troubles developed and he ended up back in the ICU early Thursday morning. His lungs were still filled with infection. He was intubated to help him breathe. His CO2 levels became dangerously high and Mercy had no further way to help him. After much discussion with the U of MN, he was transferred by ambulance early Sunday morning. It has been a roller coaster of emotions for us since Saturday when they told us he is in a very dangerous place health wise.

Please keep him in your prayers as we are praying for miracles to happen.
