Pat suffered a stroke on October 24 in her home in Phoenix, AZ. She was airlifted to Banner Health Neuroscience and Stoke Center where she underwent a successful surgery to locate and dissolve the clot. She is now on the road to recovery and working very hard each day to heal. Family members who are with Pat will be posting updates here, so please check back frequently.

Journal entry by Patty Hodapp

Hi all,

Grandma Pat and I spent two hours combing through this CaringBridge site and reading each comment from the date of her stroke until now. She was incredibly moved by your support and prayers — we talked, laughed, cried, and celebrated. She shared many memories of you all over the years. She wants you to know how much you all mean to her and sends her love and gratitude. This truly amazing CaringBridge network has directly contributed to her healing.

Today was an amazing day full of yoga, Christmas cookies, speech therapy, walking, visiting friends, cooking turkey, and running errands. Tomorrow I'm back to Colorado, Rachel leaves Friday for Minnesota, and our parents will be the next visitors after the holidays. Rachel and I are both incredibly grateful for this week with G&G, and we're continuously inspired by their love for each other, perseverance, faith, and good sense of humor.

Be well, happy holidays, and more from Lori and Bill soon.

Love to you and yours,

Patty and Rachel Hodapp
