Journal entry by Dani Taylor

Lots of news to catch everyone up on. Patrick came home last Saturday which was fairly early compared to most BMT patients. His counts are very good but he's struggling with eating and is still having nausea. His throat is healing well and he is spending a lot of time resting and taking tons of meds. He will have clinic appointments twice per week for the foreseeable future as they need to monitors him very closely. The PA that is his main provider right now is amazing and her name is Danielle so she's gotta be awesome 😉! Even though his counts are mostly in normal range his immune system is basically the same as an infant so for the next few weeks he is confined to the house and we're being extra careful about germs. We are definitely open to visits as long as everyone is aware and careful about washing hands and wearing a mask. Finn is doing well in school and seems to be adjusting as best he can. It will still be quite a while before we know how successful the transplant was but as of right now everything is going okay.
