On March 1st one year ago, at 7:27 am, I took this photo of this moth that was waiting for me in the living room when I got home the night before from a day at the hospital with Patrick.  Aaron left the hospital to spend that night and have some private time with his siblings.  And Patrick was being watched over by his oldest daughter who stayed the night by his side in the ICU. 

I recall sitting in the kitchen, it was past midnight, and typing a journal entry on this site and I kept hearing this persistent noise.  When I went to investigate the noise, I saw this moth flying around, above our piano, and continuously hitting the ceiling.  I was struck by his large size and wondered how in the world he got into the house, and then I went back to my laptop to continue my journal entry. 
 
The next morning, I got up early to dress so that I could return to the hospital to be with Patrick.  As I was ready to head downstairs to leave the house, I saw the grand moth again sitting on my bedroom window, looking out into the garden.  I knew then that it was no accident this beautiful moth made its way up to my room to show his presence again.  As you all know, moths move towards the light, and I knew the universe was sending me a private message.  

Tomorrow marks the one year anniversary of Patrick's passing.  Our thoughts are deep in remembrance as March 2nd approaches.  

For all friends and family who are also in tuned to today's and tomorrow's date and meaning to us, please know that your love, presence, support, and prayers have brought us so much comfort this past year.  Thank you!  I will post one last journal entry to mark March 2nd later this week.  Until then, have a beautiful day.
