Greetings from the recovery room - Patricia's room on the surgical ward at Lahey/Beverly Hospital.

Patricia's mastectomy and breast reconstruction (2 surgeries) went very well on Sept 23rd.  She was recovering well and quickly. 

At the three week mark, just after her surgical drain was removed...she began to develop a bad infection.  Within a couple of days is became severe enough to require re-admission to the hospital.  Her "reconstruction work" had to be removed via another surgery and she has spent 9 days (Yikes!) in the hospital recovering from the infection.

Yesterday - another reconstruction surgery - which went very well.  Patricia is strong and healthy and - just moments ago - I got the call that she'll be able to come home later today!
