Almost 2 weeks since Mom came home. Getting a routine with the caregivers and nurses when I’m working. She is thriving at home. She looks happy. Content. I knew I made the right decision when she reached out for a hug and caressed my face with her hand. Pretty sure she was saying thank you. Brought tears to my eyes.
She is trying to talk some by making noises and is interactive when the kids come over with their usual chaos. She teases Leo like old times and cuddles with Princess, their dog. Leo has been a trooper learning the Hoyer lift and helping with her cares. I am grateful for Gavish’s help in the evenings. We had her belly laughing the other night as Gavish was joking about the “nurse” telling the “doctor” what to do. Lol. I loved hearing her laugh so hard!
Started all therapies again. The great thing is that I was able to get all of her previous OSF therapists she had last year. She hasn’t had consistent therapy since October. We have her sitting on the edge of the bed again. She even reached down and picked something up from the floor.
