Parker’s Story

Site created on August 4, 2019

I had been in and out of the hospital for most of the month of July for preterm labor. Spending about 4-5 days each time. I was given steroids and put on magnesium to help Parker’s development if I was to deliver him. I was finally discharged from the hospital On Friday August 2nd after another round of being in the hospital. I was so excited to be home. I slept great throughout the night.

Saturday, August 3rd I woke up around 530 having contractions. I laid down and drank water. Contractions continued and progressively got worse. We came into OB triage around 7am. I was dilated to 8cm and the amniotic sac was bulging.

I was rushed to a labor and delivery room. An Ultrasound was done to confirm Parker was head down. Unfortunately the ultrasound showed Parker was breech and was presenting with a foot and hand.

I was then rushed to have an Emergency c -section. I was  put out under general anesthesia and next thing I knew I was waking up in recovery. Rick came to be with me after he got to see Parker and take some pics.

Parker Robert Turch was born at 0753 weighing 4lbs and 11oz  at just over 31 weeks. Parker was taken to NICU. He  was breathing on his own when he went over. He was put on CPAP to help with the pressures, he is not currently on O2. He has started feedings via NG tube and seems to be tolerating that well.

Parker definitely has a personality already and was just so excited to be in this world and meet everyone. Please continue to pray for Parker to grow and be healthy as well as a speedy recovery for me.

We will keep this updated with changes and progress!

Journal entry by Nicole Turch

Parker is doing so well at home! He is growing like a weed. He has a weight check on Monday October 21st.

I only have a week and a half left of my maternity leave. Parker will be going to his grandma and grandpa’s house majority of the time until daycare can take him in January (since he came early family is really stepping up to help out)

Palmer has been adjusting well to Parker being home and he is really starting to become more interested in him.

Thank you so much for all your thoughts and prayers! I won’t be updating on here anymore as he is doing so well and now that he is home we are a whole lot busier but we are loving every single minute of the chaos!

Thank you again for all the thoughts, prayers and those that bought gifts, gift cards and brought us meals. It means so much to us. We are so blessed with the two best little boys!
