Journal

It has been 32 days since the trauma to Daniela's brain.

Tues at concussion clinic she took her 3rd Impact test. This is a computer test that the school has the students do before sports to establish a baseline brain function to compare to if a head injury is gotten. She scored very well for the 3rd time. She will not have to do another as long as progression continues. YAY!

Daniela has been determined to get back in time for JO volleyball practice which begins this Saturday. Dr was pleased with the progress and agreed if PT went well and they cleared her she had green light GO.

The testing they did in PT was very intense. Putting a test band on her head, standing her on a board that moves and tips, made her close her eyes and move her head from side to side all why moving this platform under her feet and having her stay within a range displaying on a computer. Then it was to the treadmill and floor drills in the gym.

She did so well. She did "fall" twice on the platform test but once her brain got ahold of the requirement she scored very high.

All of this said to let you know she is cleared to return to volleyball for practice this weekend and prayfully after PT next week and neurology this week she will be able to play for their first tournament in a few weeks. She returns to full school days and is able to participate in class. Daniela will be able to begin taking tests. Daniela will return to On Call and worship team and her job slowly.

It gets emotional when I reflect on what has transpired in just 30 days. We know that another event could be very dangerous for her and she will have to make decisions there. I am grateful for the determination this young lady has and the understanding of the power of Christ in her life that she possesses.

Continue to lift her in prayer when you are prompted. She still has a road to travel. God's blessing on everyone taking time to be on this journey with our family. -Kyle
