Parker has been very busy with doctor appointments but continues to get great news!

Today Parker has CT scan scheduled of his hand with the screw to see if further surgery would be needed.  He also had blood work scheduled this morning to continue to monitor his sodium, thyroid and cortisone levels.   Parker follows up with Dr. Walch next Tuesday. Pray that the good news continues!

On Wednesday, Parker had an appointment with Dr. Mazoue regarding his legs.  Dr. Mazoue stated that his healing was incredible!  After x-rays and examination, even the kneecap that was broken has started to fuse back together.  He told Parker that he was out of the braces!! Most importantly, he said no further surgery is needed at this time because of Parker's fast healing.  We were all excited to see Parker walk out of Dr. Mazoue's office brace-free!  He can now start PT next week.

Yesterday, we visited the neurosurgeon in Charleston at MUSC, Dr. Frankel.  He stated to us once again that Parker is a miracle because with severity and number of skull fractures people usually do not survive.  After examination, he said Parker is doing fantastic (another miracle) and that he can begin weaning off his anti-seizure medication and be completely off within a week.  Parker has not ever had a seizure and he does not expect that he will.  Basically, Parker is released from the neurosurgeon unless we have any issues!  He cannot drive just yet but should be able to in a couple of weeks.  He was cleared to return to work as long as he does not take on a full load and slowly takes on more and more responsibility.   Parker also worked in some time to visit with two great friends while in Charleston, Emma and Angela.  That did he a world of good as well!

Today, Parker is a special guest at Midlands Regional Rehabilitation Hospital as they celebrate National Rehab Week.  He will fittingly be celebrated not only as their first patient but their very first success story!

So, in a nutshell, your prayers are working!  Please continue to pray for him as we begin to make another transition into (hopefully) a lot of therapy work with PT, a hand specialist, and cognitive therapies.  Thank you to everyone, those that we know and those that we do not, who have been lifting up or family, especially Parker, in your prayers.

God is so GOOD!
