Park’s Story

Site created on July 5, 2022

Dear Friends,

We are afraid this is the kind of letter nobody ever wants to write or receive because it deeply affects people you love. Park has suffered a major hemorrhagic stroke. The last couple of days have been extremely difficult and we feel that it is now important to tell you how it all happened and where we go from here.

July 2 was just a typical summer Saturday at the Park Eddy household. Park and Linda took Sadie (our dog) to the dog beach and enjoyed a lovely morning. After some errands we settled in for some afternoon tv time. After one episode of The Terminal List, Linda made everyone pause the tv and get to some afternoon chores. About 40 minutes later Hunter found Park collapsed and unresponsive. 911 was called and the ambulance quickly got him to the hospital.

Park went into emergency surgery, they put a shunt in to relieve the pressure. He is at the Hoag Hospital ICU and has made consistent steady progress. We will update as things move forward.

Thank you so much for your love and support. We greatly appreciate your prayers, thoughts, and love. If you'd like to donate meals or funds for Park's Long Term recover follow the Ways to Help button. And most importantly, please keep praying!

Dear Friends,

Thank you so much for your generous support of Park this past year. With your support we have been able to enroll Park into the High Hopes Head Injury Program where he gets state of the art therapy to help him learn to walk again. Above is Park on the Locomat.

On Saturday September 23, 2023, Park will be wheeling in the Dove Dash Family 1K at 8:45 am to raise money for High Hopes. We would love to see you! Please consider signing up here https://highhopes.ws/ to join us or to donate a tax deductible pledge in Park's name to High Hopes Head Injury Program.

Thank you so much! Park and Linda Eddy
