Another Wednesday night of playing organ for orchestra rehearsal and then, Owen stayed for the entirety of choir rehearsal! I was amazed. He was amazed that his back didn't hurt at all! Back pain after playing for a lengthy time has plagued him for most of our marriage. For the absence of this, we are grateful to the Lord, and think it could be attributed to his organs being in their proper places! Ha!
It is now Thursday evening, and we had what became Owen's final visit with the surgeon at UT Southwestern. It was the most timely, and the briefest visit. The surgeon inspected the incision which healed completely by last night, and the stoma. All is well. He instructed Owen to apply lotion to the area, and explained that it would be completely healed when it was the same color as the rest of him.
He is cleared to do whatever he feels up to doing: swimming, driving, eating an expanded menu, etc. Perhaps you heard him cheering as we left the building. He asked me, "Is it time that we do the Dance of Joy?" (Reference to the sitcom "Perfect Strangers.")
We are praising God. We are thanking you for your faithful prayers and love for us. We are thankful that the Lord has chosen to show us that He is ever faithful, and that His plan includes our continued service for Him until He comes. We love each of you, and we love our Lord Jesus and all He has done for us for eternity. Pressing on.
