Hello everyone, I realize its been awhile since I have given an updated on Owen. We have finished another phase of chemo and we are celebrating. The first 2 phases were really hard. Owen has been extremely sick and we have been in the hospital multiple times for fevers and transfusions. Spirits for both of us were struggling through this phase. I cant explain how hard it is to be sick for this long. My poor boy has really been such a trooper but sure was feeling the defeat this past month. We started a new phase this week that is 2 months long. This phase typically is not as nauseating and will allow us to make trips home more frequently. Owen had scans last week and we received the best news that all the cancer that was in his lymph nodes is gone. We were so excited and relieved to receive this news. This was expected news but I am always fearful that the chemo isn't working like it needs to. Owens body is technically free off cancer but his cancer is a blood cancer so if we stopped treatment it would come back. We need to continue the treatment plan and make sure all the cells that carry the cancer gene are gone. We have reached the halfway point for our treatment down here. Its hard to believe its been 4 months already but it also feels like its been a lifetime. We are feeling stronger this week. Getting to come home more is the miracle that our spirits were needing. Thank you all for the prayers and support. We really couldn't get through this without all the support. Please continue to pray for Owen's nausea to go away and his spirits to stay positive and strong. Pray for his sweet brothers as this has turned their lives upside down too. Thank you everyone so much and we look forward to being home for good which is still the end of August to beginning of September.
