Morris’s Story

Site created on April 26, 2020

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place.  We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.  This past week Morris started feeling ill and began to dehydrate very quickly.  On Saturday he was transported to Altus in Lumberton in hopes of getting IV fluids and bloodwork, which would then provide a diagnosis for the doctors.  Unfortunately, this did not happen and he was then transported to Baptist Hospital in Beaumont Saturday evening to the ER.    We were blessed with 2 wonderful nurses, Morgan and Kate, who communicated wonderfully with our family by phone, due to the Covid-19 guidelines at this time, we are not able to be with Morris and Kate even Facetime Morris with Pat before bed that evening.
He has been transferred to ICU at Baptist Hospital and receiving the best care possible.  He has been tested Negative for Covid-19.  Thank you Lord.
He has a severe UTI and cellulitis.   His kidneys are not producing and they are doing temporary dialysis to hopefully correct this issue and rid his body of the infection in his kidneys.  Already we have had at least one nurse wish he was her grandpa and referred to him as precious , with a sweet spirit.  We are believing and standing on Gods word during this time.
Our family deeply appreciates your thoughts and asks for your prayers for Morris' healing.  We also ask for you to keep Pat in your prayers for peace of my mind during this time of separation from Morris.  “I look up to the mountains; does my strength come from mountains? No, my strength comes from GOD, who made heaven, and earth, and mountains.”
‭‭Psalm‬ ‭121:1-2‬ ‭

Journal entry by Wendi Witt

Today we make our final journal entry with a heartfelt thank you to each of you who extended your love and prayers for dad, mom, Dennis, Misty and me.  During dad's illness, we were able to witness God's glory in different ways He would present Himself through the doctors, staff and other care givers involved in dad's care.
Whenever someone as special as our dad was, has gone to be with his Lord and Savior, it leaves us here to grieve.  However, I was reminded a few days ago that when our hearts are hemorrhaging with grief and loss, never forget that Christ binds and compresses it with a nail-scarred hand.  Christ is our hope that we will all see each other again.

John 11:25
"Jesus said to her, I am the resurrection and the life.  He who believes in me will live, even though he dies."
