Newest Update

Journal entry by Samantha Cattaneo

Time for an update! Happy to report that there isn’t much to say! I’ve been out of the hospital after my marathon 29 day stay & back at dad’s for a couple of weeks now. Other than some standard doctor appointments, there hasn’t been much going on. I have gratefully been feeling pretty good.

The biggest issue I’ve been having is pain where my abdominal bleed was. My belly has been pretty uncomfortable, but the medical professionals assure me I just need time to keep healing. Despite the discomfort, all of the bruising and swelling is gone! So I seem to be moving in the right direction.

Speaking of swelling, there is my face!!! I understand that steroids are responsible for my “moon face” but OH MY GOD… no human has ever had more swollen cheeks and chin! It’s horrifying and challenging to deal with on a daily basis! I KNOW it’s supposed to go away when the steroids are done, but I live in fear that my face will be stuck like this forever. 🤦🏻‍♀️ I guess I should be grateful that this is what I am hyper focused on these days. 😂

If there is a perk to being “sick” it’s that I’ve had lots of amazing visitors - and I’m getting in wonderful quality time with all sorts of friends. I’ve added some pics to the gallery. If you are around, I’m always happy to receive hugs, just let me know! 🧡

That is my update! My face is enormous, the bruising is gone, my belly still hurts but looks great and I have my final chemo on Friday! After that, we sit tight and wait for results and surgery plans.

I send you all my love and thank you for your continued support.  I will update again soon!!

XOXO ~ Sam :)

Oh yeah, Pete wanted me to add a current picture of my foot too to prove that that’s gone back to normal also!! See gallery for that! lol!😂
