We came home last Wednesday and shortly after getting settled, Dr Cashen called to let us know the results of Olivia’s latest bone marrow biopsy. She is officially in remission!!!
Now, this doesn’t mean that she doesn’t still need a bone marrow transplant. We have had appointments every day this week and her ovarian tissue harvest surgery/new central line insertion was this morning.
Jacob had all of his screening bloodwork and physical yesterday. He is good to go, and excited to be “finally doing something” to help her.
We head back to the hospital next Friday to start her next round of chemo and radiation to get her body totally ready to accept Jacob’s stem cells. The radiation part is new and she will undergo full body radiation 2 times a day for 4 days.
Alex and his mom are here until sometime this weekend when they will head home (AZ) until she is out of isolation.
We are hoping for a nice quiet week next week leading up to readmission.
Thank you all for the amazing meals and snacks!! It is so helpful not having to stress about what to make and is a very welcomed break from all of the eating out. 🧡
