1-YEAR NEUROLOGY & HEMATOLOGY UPDATE ON OLLIE:
Last week Oliver had an MRI. Today we met with Neurology and Hematology to get the results of that scan. Overall, it was a great reading and we are so thankful to say that his clots resolved, site looks good, and and he won't need another MRI until next year, assuming no other symptoms. He will continue to meet annually with Neurology and Hematology for years. He has narrowing of his veins on the impacted side of his brain, but the scan showed that the veins on the left side have opened up larger to compensate for the lack of flow on that right side. Praise the Lord! Those veins are narrowed due to scarring from the blood clots last year.
Anyone who has seen Oliver recently knows that he is doing GREAT. He's running around like a normal, rambunctious two year old, and we are so thankful!! The doctor mentioned that he should never play contact sports as he is more susceptible to adverse reactions from a concussion due to his brain injury, but he’s good to be a normal, active boy otherwise. He also has minor hearing loss in one ear, but so far is not seemed to impact him. Not a problem either way…just so thankful to have our boy with us!
Thank you all so much for praying for him, and for all the support we've had over the last year. The Lord has been so kind to us in the midst of it, giving Ollie and all of us strength to get through the unthinkable, his healing of Ollie and in providing us a community that surrounded and encouraged us. Each of you are such a blessing. Thank you for celebrating with us in this and for walking with us in the hard. We love and appreciate you!
