Ashlie & Tyler’s Story

Site created on February 25, 2021

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

Ashlie had an appointment on Tuesday Feb. 23 to check on the babies. She was 28 weeks. It was discovered that Baby B had no fluid and hadn’t grown much. It appeared twin to twin transfusion was happening. Ashlie was sent to The Mother and Baby Center in Minneapolis for an ultrasound to determine if the babies could have a Fetoscopy and laser ablation of connecting vessels. The ultrasound showed that Baby A was having some heart failure and they decided to proceed with the laser surgery. The doctor felt somewhat confident it was successful and they kept Ashlie overnight to monitor the babies. Things went well overnight and Ashlie was discharged on Wednesday Feb. 24. She was scheduled to receive steroid shots and magnesium the next day so Ashlie and Tyler stayed at a hotel in Bloomington. Her appointment was this morning and they received some difficult news. Baby As heart was not doing well so the doctors decided they needed to be delivered TODAY!
