Norma Jean’s Story

Site created on July 17, 2018

On July 23rd I will be having open heart surgery to have a thickening of my heart wall removed and a valve replaced. I have known for many years I have needed this surgery just did not think the day would come. My family as well as my sister will be with me at USC Medical Center in LA. My daughter Kendra will be keeping this site updated with my progress for those of you that would like to be informed. I am strong and otherwise healthy and have faith I will recover well and look for my next adventure.

Journal entry by Norma Jean Johnson

Day 3 post-op and she’s already made some great progress! They’ve moved her out of the ICU into the critical care ward, and they expect she will be out of the hospital by Monday at the soonest. But the majority of the tubes and wires are out, she’s able to walk short distances and there’s no more grogginess from the anesthesia. We’re so amazed by what a Wonder Woman she’s been, she’s already almost back to normal!

For those of you asking, she is in room 5308 at
Keck Hospital of USC
1500 San Pablo St
Los Angeles, CA  90033
United States

We will be posting any further updates on her Facebook page, for those of you who can’t access that, you can email us at Johnson238@cox.net or text (949)322-1959 for updates!
