We have good news to share today. Norma's surgery is finished and was 100% successful. We just had the post-op meeting with Dr. Chhabra. He was able to install all 3 of the wires Norma needed for the pace-maker and defibrillator to fully function. (Pre-surgery, there was some risk of not being able to install all 3 wires.) The entire surgery took just over one hour and Norma is already being moved from recovery to her room. They will observe her for the night. Her heart is already being paced and the Dr's expect her to feel better immediately. The device will pace her heart, improve the heart function, and continuously monitor her heart rate/function. So happy to get rid of the life vest.
Honestly, we were quite nervous (terrified?) about today even though they perform thousands of these procedures. We are prayerful and thankful for the success today. Praise the Lord!
