Nora’s Story

Site created on January 17, 2021

On Friday,  January 15th, Nora collapsed at work due to a major heart attack, causing her brain aneurysm to burst. She was resuscitated,  stabilized and rushed by ambulance to St. Croix Regional Medical Center, for further evaluation. Due to the severity of her condition, she was intubated and  transported to Regions hospital. Shortly after arriving at Regions, she was put into a hyperbaric chamber, to cool her body temperature and assist in recovery.  She had a CT scan that showed extensive brain damage and has yet to show any brain activity.  According to the doctors, her heart and kidneys seem to be working well, however,  she is having an MRI today that will provide additional insight.

We have received an outpour of support from family and friends on Grandma Nora, which definitely speaks volumes to the impact she has had on several peoples life.  We (her family) started this site to help keep everybody updated on her status and to provide an outlet for everyone to send well wishes to her that we can read to her and hopefully, God willing, show her one day.  We have also started a GoFundMe page to help with any bills that my grandpa my incur during this difficult time, however, please do not feel obligated to donate as your prayers and well wishes are just as much appreciated.

If you are a good cook or even are the king/queen of take out food,  please feel free to comment if you would like to donate a meal for our grandpa.  Thank you again for your prayers, donations and comforting thoughts.  We along with our grandma and grandpa truly appreciate it.
