Thank you all for your support! With kids activities, travel, meals, funny cat memes, long speakerphone calls with Nate (his favorite form of communication, I’m convinced), rides to appointments, walks, matinees, PUZZLES and DQ (cue Britney’s  oops I did it again) (also props to Nate & Henry for correcting my spelling of Ms. Spears).

We made it to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute last month for an excellent conversation with Dr. Nancy Lin. She reinforced the notion that I’ve had exceptional responses to treatment so far (in a good way), and concurred with our choice among several good options at this treatment juncture.

But before that meeting, Nate and I went up the Atlantic coast to Acadia National Park in Maine. It was FUN. And beautiful, in a very northern Minnesota coast way. We really enjoyed our time just the two of us. After Maine & Boston, we grabbed the kids to head south to Cancun for a few days of their spring break. It was again FUN and beautiful (and nothing like northern Minnesota). Most days our highlights were standing on a sandbar all four of us together, being just pummeled by the sea and laughing in the sunshine.

Now back to the reality of school for the boys, work for Nate and cancer treatment for me. I decided to repeat the chemotherapy drugs I received in 2022 to address the armpit/axillary flare up. This gal is on a mission to be an “exceptional responder” by hitting the chemo as infrequently as possible while maintaining stability on immunotherapy (a rarity for mtnbc folks). So yesterday was dose 1. Hopefully by mid June I’ll have a scan showing a good response in my naughty armpit and take it easier the rest of the summer. In the meanwhile, I’ve got my anti-nausea drugs lined up, a list of the most fun people to take me on an impromptu Dairy Queen run (I’ve prescribed this for myself to counteract side effects), a list of the garbage television I need to watch, two snuggly cats, and the best human roommates too.

We continue to be enormously grateful for your love and support.
